It is always perspective.
I do not remember the source of this quote but it says, The mark of an educated person is one who entertains a new idea. That does not mean you HAVE to accept the idea. That does not mean you SHOULD neglect the idea. And it definitely means you HAVE to reject the new idea. Just be open because you never know what we could find at the front, middle or the end of the idea.
Here is a perspective I would like to share:
In life we are all apprentices and we are learning how to build things. So let's use the example of carpentry. We are trying to build a table. We are using some bolts to attache the legs to the main table top. We take out the hammer and start pounding the nuts onto the bolts. It does not seem to be working. We then take out an adjustable wrench and that seems to work to get the nuts on the bolts.
We have no problem accepting the above example as "duh!" But in our own personal lives we keep doing the same things wondering why it never works. We seem to not be open to NEW TOOLS that could solve our problems. And we waste energy condemning the tool that wasn't working instead of looking for the tool that will work.
Be open, train your mind to look at things through many perspectives. If you find that the new idea works for you to bring more HAPPINESS, PEACE and ABUNDANCE, adopt it and apply it. If it does not work, set it aside. No need to condemn it. That is wasting energy where it could be used in amplifying the new IDEA that does work for you.
WE ALWAYS FIND WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
